Professor Chaya Herman is Associate Professor at the Department of Education Management and Policy Studies at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Prof. Herman is an internationally recognized researcher with more than 20 peer reviewed publications with expertise in education policies research and evaluation, special needs, qualitative research methodology and genocide education. She has conducted research and consulted for a wide range of national and international agencies, including the Salzburg Global Seminar, University of Leeds, the Africa Network for Internationalisation in Education, the Academy of Sciences in South Africa, and the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Foundation.

Chaya is a Co-Investigator on the Phase 1 South Africa project 'The Changemakers.'
