Esther Dusabe-Richards is Postdoctoral Research Fellow on Praxis: Arts and Humanities for Global Development. Praxis exists to champion the distinctive contribution that arts and humanities research can make to tackle urgent global development challenges. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Praxis sits within Changing the Story (CTS) but aims to reach out and engage with all Arts & Humanities research across the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) portfolio.

Esther has an interdisciplinary background, with expertise in international and UK health, gender and development, religion and reproductive rights. She was previously part of the Gender, Equity and Health group at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She has used qualitative and mixed methods approaches in contexts as diverse as Timor-Leste, China, Uganda and the UK. She has published across a range of health and development international journals and has produced reports for UNICEF and SIPRI. She published chapters on her PhD research in Timor-Leste and has written blogs on her specialist area of interest, gender equity and health.
